Meet the Capital Team

We have a committed and professional team who are responsible for ensuring that each student coming into the school is looked after and is made to feel a part of the school.


The Directors and School Owners

Spencer and Paulina Fordham are the owners and Directors of Capital School of English. Operational and visible within the school, they oversee the very high standards the school has in terms of providing a 360 degree provision for international students. Key to the success of Capital, both directors are passionate about maintaining the school’s philosophy of Live, Study, Develop and Achieve.


Academic Team

The academic team is managed by our Director of Studies. Responsible for the smooth day to day running of the academic provision, they ensure standards are maintained in teaching and learning, as well as developing the provision to take into account the latest developments in ELT. Working in partnership with our Academic Administrator, their objectives are to support and guide students on their academic journey and offer an academic experience that exceeds expectations.

Teaching Team

All our teaching staff hold English Language Teaching qualifications that meet the requirements of the British Council. In addition, they are required to complete a safeguarding course. Teachers play an active role in the development of the school attending in-house training workshops and seminars and receiving financial support for a range of external teacher development courses.


Activity Team

Throughout the year the school runs a comprehensive social activity calendar. The school has a full time activity staff member who is responsible for planning and running different activities throughout the year. Friendly and approachable, our Social Activity Coordinator is key to promoting the social and cultural side of our school, whilst working closely with the academic team to ensure language learning opportunities are maximised outside the classroom.


Administration Team

The Administration team are a group of highly motivated and student focused people offering excellent support to our partners overseas. Key to both roles is effective communication. The school’s Educational Tour Consultant Administrator’s role is to be the main point of contact between the school and its partners overseas. Our Groups Administrator  is responsible for co-ordinating the year-round Mini Stay provision as well as registering new students.

Accommodation Team

The accommodation team is experienced and diligent Homestay co-ordinators. They are local to Bournemouth and in fact host students themselves. They have developed high standards in terms of the recruitment of homestay providers and are on hand throughout a student’s stay handling the relationship between student and accommodation providers.


Accounts Team

The Accounts Team are responsible for managing our financial operations, invoicing, payments and processing documents for student visa applications. They work directly with our students as well as in partnership with our educational consultants around the world. They are happy to assist with any queries regarding these services.
