How to get to Capital School of English

By Coach
If you arrive by plane there is a good coach service with National Express from Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
You will need to get off at the Travel Interchange, which is the main coach station in Bournemouth. It is possible to buy your ticket at the coach office at the airport and you can pay by credit card or cash. Local taxis and buses are available from the Travel Interchange on your arrival in Bournemouth.

By Taxi
The School can arrange for transportation to pick you up at the airport and bring you to Bournemouth. You will be met at Arrivals where the driver will be displaying the Capital School of English logo and your name.

Summer Collective Transfers - ADULTS & JUNIORS - Direct Students Only

Available from Sunday 27th June until Sunday 29th August 2010.

The school will operate 2 different services detailed below:

Option 1 (Collective School Transfer):

  • This service is available for individual junior and adult students requiring to be picked up and returned to Heathrow Airport (Sundays Only).
  • The school operates a coach transfer on Sundays only and is applicable for students arriving on flights between 10am and 3pm.
  • The school has a number of staff based at the airport responsible for meeting students off flights and transferring them back to Bournemouth.
  • All staff will be wearing school uniform and will be in possession of a staff identity card.
  • All students requiring this service (16 and under) will need to bring with them the letter of consent from the Parents detailing who will be responsible for them. * please see a sample of the document
Price £100 return

Option 2 (School Taxi Transfer):

  • This service is available to ALL students travelling outside of the collective transfer window and it will be mandatory for all students 16 and under to order a school taxi to pick them up from the airport and to take them to their home stay accommodation.
  • The school works with a local authority registered courier company and all named drivers are issued the students exact details enabling a secure and stress free collection and transfer to Bournemouth.
  • New regulations introduced by UKBA have highlighted the need for schools to operate with the welfare of the students in mind. Capital School of English prides itself on the service offered to all its students and this service gives not only the young travellers but also their parents’ peace of mind that their child will be picked up safely on arrival and also checked in** on their departure date.

**Any 16 year old or under travelling by taxi has to pay an "Airport drop off supplement" of £40 in order to get them checked in for departures only.

By Train
If you wish to travel to Bournemouth by train you need to go to Waterloo Station in London. The journey time is about two hours to Bournemouth Station located at the Travel Interchange where you can get local buses and taxis.

Local Information

Bicycles
Most students hire a bicycle because it is the cheapest, quickest and easiest way to travel around Bournemouth. Long-stay students usually buy a bicycle, remember - you can sell your bicycle to another student when you leave.

Coaches
You can buy coach tickets to the airports and other major cities such as London and Edinburgh at the Travel Interchange.

Local Buses
The school is well serviced by public transport. Discounted tickets can be bought in the town centre.

Taxis
